Statement 1
talks about the tax on land quality. Ok? First we have to think When an Empire
will start levying tax on land quality?
It is not a
simple tax, there are lot of processes involved in assessing the land quality.
So it will be possible when the empire is stable and well established.
And it is a common
knowledge that Vijayanagara was a big powerful empire that lasted centuries. So
it was big and stable more so under the rule of Krishna Deva. Hence our
statement 1 is absolutely correct.
Similarly Akbar
was one to establish an extensive tax system once the Mughal empire was stable.
Statement 2 can
also be answered using common knowledge. In Vijayanagara the King was the
ultimate authority. So everyone basically breathing his air has to pay tax else
he should be in a service to the king. So private owner should pay tax in cash
or manufactured goods. If I’m not wrong people were even taxed for keeping a
garden in their home or for decorating their homes. So our statement 2 is
correct.
